Christmas Sneak Peeks, Rockin' Fireworks, and Phil’s Weekly Ramblings!
It’s been a month since I last blogged, and I’ve been “strongly encouraged” to do this more often. So, from now on I will be spewing out my thoughts into the void on a weekly basis, because clearly, the world can’t survive without my musings. I know you’re all beside yourselves with excitement- I can almost hear the collective sigh of joy from here.
And speaking of joy and excitement (hold on to your hats), our Christmas stock will start appearing soon. Because who doesn’t love Christmas turning up a bit early like an over-keen relative? I’ve already started sneaking a few items onto the website, so if you fancy an early browse, check out https://www.philsgoodfood.co.uk/christmas and.... there’s lots more to come.
If you are ridiculously organised (you know who you are), we will be taking Christmas orders from next week. This is your chance to lock in your Barkham Blue and avoid any cheese-related crises. Trust me, you don’t want to leave it too late and be that person crying into a block of mild cheddar.
Now, in the ‘I like to think I’m cooler than I am’ department, my band 'Every Other Wednesday' (which sounds like a dental appointment but is actually a band) will be playing at the Sandhurst Fireworks on Saturday, 26th October. https://www.sandhurst.gov.uk/
We are opening the show so will be on at 5pm before most people arrive. But how good is it to get people pumped up with a bit of rock ‘n’ roll before they watch things explode? If you need an incentive beyond my guitar heroics, there’s a café there with hot drinks, because standing outside in late October without coffee is madness! Oh, and it’s a free event, so you have nothing to lose.
For those of you having your own bonfire nights (or those with sophisticated fire pits) – we’ve got giant American-style marshmallows https://www.philsgoodfood.co.uk/epic-giant-marshmallow-500g and extendable toasting forks https://www.philsgoodfood.co.uk/toasting-fork. Yes, extendable, so burns only end up on the marshmallow. It’s way more fun than it should be.
In other news, our Summer Giveaway is finally wrapping up – our final lucky winner (well done Rachael) is collecting their hamper on Saturday, so with any luck, we’ll have a picture to share next week. Keep an eye out for that – I’m sure it’ll be the pinnacle of your social media scrolling and we can all pretend we’re not jealous.
Oh, and before I forget – a quick shoutout for Wokingham Borough Council, who sent me a draft Town Centre Strategy which includes encouraging creativity and bringing new businesses and shops to the area. Fingers crossed we start seeing some positive changes early next year. Here’s hoping!
Right, that's me done for this week. Hope you all have a cracking week ahead, and I'll catch you at the same time next week—same place, same channel!
Cheers!
Phil
